We're Hiring: Licensed Psychologist

Role Description
We are seeking a licensed psychologist to join our team! Grounded Therapy is a small group of psychologists operating in an independent group model in San Diego, CA. Our team works virtually and offers you the flexibility of remote work. We are committed to offering accessible, intersectional, evidence-based therapy. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about working with diverse populations and have clinical experience working with LGBTQ+ folks.
 
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a caseload of at least 20 sessions weekly
  • Provide tailored evidence-based treatment
  • Participate in weekly case consultation meeting with the Grounded team
  • Maintain up-to-date assessments, notes, and treatment plans in line with clinical standards
  • Maintain active licensure in California and all relevant CE requirements
 
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in psychology
  • Licensed or license-eligible in California
  • Experience working with the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or OCD
  • Professional experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy (e.g., ACT, CBT, CPT, ERP, PE) and working with LGBTQ+ folks
  • Champion inclusivity and meeting access needs of clients and colleagues

​Program Purpose
The postdoctoral training program at GT offers specialized training in treating a wide variety of mental health disorders for adults, including but not limited to: trauma, anxiety, depression, and OCD. Fellows will be exposed to evidence-based practices (EBPs) in various populations, such as the LGBTQIA+ community, folks with neurodivergence, Veterans, older adults, and those with comorbid disabilities. Our hope is to offer accessible, effective, anti-oppressive therapy to folks from all walks of life.

Successful completion of the postdoctoral fellow program at GT:
  1. Fulfills licensure requirements for the state of California
  2. Prepares trainees to work in private and group practice settings.
  3. Advances capabilities and use of evidence-based practices. 

Entrance Requirements
Fellows must have completed all doctoral degree requirements from an APA/CPA-accredited program and have completed an APA/CPA-accredited internship.

Trainee Expectations
  • Build up to 28 appointments per week throughout the training year
  • 2 hours Individual Supervision, weekly
  • ​1 hour Group Supervision, weekly
  • 1 hour Structured Learning Activities, weekly
Application Procedure
Please submit your application via the APPA CAS portal, if you have any trouble please reach out to Dr. Brew. Materials include everything in the UPPD general application (please feel free to copy and paste into a separate word document). When completing the application, you will need:
  1. A current CV
  2. A cover letter detailing your interest in Grounded Therapy and describing your prior therapeutic experience 
  3. At least one letter of recommendation
  4. Any additional materials that you believe tell us about who you are as a trainee

Applications are due by Sunday, December 31st, 2023. Our program will follow the Common Hold Date procedures set forth by APPIC.
