I am a clinical psychologist who delivers individualized, evidence-based care for adults who are seeking meaning, healing, or change. I have a collaborative approach to therapy with an appreciation for diversity in the human experience. Growth comes from the vulnerable spaces in hardship and pain, and my goal is to foster that growth with a safe therapeutic environment. I will do my best to connect with you and your struggle, understand and respect your worldview and values, and offer a nonjudgmental space for us to navigate a path away from suffering. I have experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy and assessment for a variety of concerns in adults across the lifespan, with specialty training in working with older adults. My clinical interests include grief, adjustment to chronic illness or change in physical functioning, end-of-life issues, phase of life transitions, crises of faith, anxiety, depression, health behaviors, substance use problems, disordered eating, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairment and dementia, and caregiver stress. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapies broadly with an emphasis in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. I earned my PhD in Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology at Utah State University where I studied neuropsychology and researched lifestyle factors that impact cognitive functioning in late life. I completed my predoctoral internship at VA Salt Lake City Health Care System and a postdoctoral fellowship in Geropsychology at UCSD / San Diego VA Healthcare System. I worked within the VA healthcare system and at a nonprofit healthcare organization prior to joining Grounded Therapy. |
